Blake Griffin is expected to not be available for the Detroit Pistons’ first round playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks. According to Yahoo Sports’ Vincent Goodwill, there is a “slim chance” Griffin plays this weekend, meaning he will be out for at least three games.
This was the same issue that caused Griffin to miss 5 of the Pistons’ last 7 games.
Griffin told this to reported following the Pistons’ 121-86 blowout loss in game 1:
Obviously, it’s very, very frustrating. You sacrifice your body throughout the year and play through little injuries to get to this point. Obviously, very frustrated. I never like to feel like I’m leaving my guys out there.
I have to do what our organization, our training staff, our doctors think is best—and that’s the bottom line.”
The Pistons needed Griffin to have a remote shot at defeating the 1 seeded Bucks, but they have even less of a chance without him.
